| Now I know that malls are a bad idea but in this city its the best place to meet up with people. So when the zombies come here is what we will do. Meet up at the Alderwood Mall. We will get everyone working together to stock up on food, clothing, survival gear etc. Then we will make our way accross the street to the high school. Now a lot of you are thinking this is a bad idea. However, the school is made of brick concreate and steal, and is, oddly, well designed as a defensable area.
While getting situated in the school or maybee even a little before I have a group of people that will be takeing a semi to G.I. Goes and loading it up with more survival gear and firearms.
Given peoples skills and qualifications we will set up teams and leadership. We will of course have a team at the mall for security and to ensure the ease of obtaining back up supplies as needed.

I love a post that begins with, "I know this is a bad idea, but..."
I it is a bad idea to go to the mall, why would you go ahead and do it anyway?? Why not meet up at the school (Which many of us here think is a brilliant idea, whereas the mall is NOT), and then attempt to make raids from there?
Schools have lots of food stocked up, at least enough for a small group. You can make your raids from there... no need to start anywhere else.
Remember, on Z-Day, many of us believe that what can go wrong, WILL go wrong. That means you need to be prepared for it all to hit the fan from the get-go. There are going to be riots, people running around screaming, Zeds chasing the humans, the police panicking and shooting anything that moves... God help you if the National Guard manages to roll down your street; it will be a bloodbath.
Consider re-thinking your initial strategy of meeting up in the worst of possible locations. You meeting point should BE your main point of fortification. Meet where you will defend... not at a location and then all travel to another point.

On Z-Day, the first thing I am going to do is scream like a little girl. Once that's out, I will be ready to function.
It might not be the best thing to attempt meeting up with people at all. We don't know the properties of the virus (Or whatever the cause is) of the Undead. For all we know just being within 10 feet of an infected person is more then enough to get us infected too, and believe me a lot of people will be infected quickly and still head to your designated meeting place.
I say abandon all hope and flee into wilderness, but to each his own.
I think that it's probably safest to convert to a water based civilization, living on boats and inhabiting islands that have been cleared of zombies.
Zombies really don't have the fine motor skills needed to swim. They'd sink pretty quickly.
So, I'd be making my way to a marina and finding a nice house boat or yacht. Zombies will most likely be working on land based targets initially, so you immediately have bought your some time to begin formulating long term plans.
