This is a very good idea for a primary weapon. If you can use a pump shotgun you can use this rifle. It's chambered for the Rem .223 and uses readily available AR-15 mags. Plus there's no gas operating system to clog and cause miss feeds. Now I own and will use a highly modified AK47 (no full auto and still legal) because I am trained on how to use and maintain (yes there is maintenance on an AK) it. But for most people this will be a very easy to use weapon. Check it out. By the way I am in no way affiliated with Remington. But I would LOVE to pick up the Model 700 on the same page.

i like that gun because of the availability of the ammunition and magazines for it plus the pump action lets you have a good rate of fire and still retain accuracy
Looks freaky, but I love the simplicity (and mag sharing with a NATO rifle). Didn't see how much it cost, accessories, etc., but I might look into getting one at some point in the near future.

M4s. Military weaponry will offer more ammo, good accuracy and will be plentiful in the aftermath of an apocalypse. Just pick one up and grab a few mags and you'll be in business. Plus it doesn't cost money. 5.56mm is also good for head shots; because the rounds tend to bounce around in the skull.
