We can't live under a gas mask forever though, eventually we're going to need to eat, drink (Well, you could always get a NATO style mask. They have a hose that can plug into your canteens), or if we sneeze in the mask it's going to have to be cleaned out. No, but when your government goes under the gas mask, you should too. Some gas masks have a tube that can be connected to canteens. This will enable you to drink while doing regular activities. Also, eating could be specified in a bio/chemical free zones that can be designated by specialized members.
The idea is that a biological/ chemical attack will not be in constant effect. It will hit, infect, then die. The infected is the main reason to worry.
