What has happened?

Author:
The Terminator ...

I can remember when this time of hell was never around.A time when the sky was bright blue and you could go outside without have to carry a gun and keep your eyes clear for those…”things” out their.A time before all of this happened.See it all started after a war between America and Iraq.President Bush told the Iraqi Leaders that since they helped Iraq rebuild after the rasheem of Saddam Hussein that the US would have complete control over the oil fields. The Iraq Leaders felt different about this.In defense they bombed a small platoon of soldiers and military trucks to show Bush they meant what they said and told Bush to back off.Of course he took this action differently and a threat to America. He declared war on Iraq and then the Government spent Billions if not Trillions of dollars to try and produce a new Bio-Chemical that would win the war fast and easy. The Government recruited a brilliant scientist named Dr.Rodger Peterson and eventually made a chemical that was reported to have an immediate effect on the enemy. What the Government didn't tell the public is that this chemical agent went straight to the brain and shut it down in a matter of minutes and then rebooting the brain to only have it function in a extreme homicidal aggression.Once rebooted the infected goes into an almost trance like state. All they can think about is to kill anyone they can find.Speed and strength is increased all most 50 to 70%.The virus spreads so quickly due to its blood born properties. All it takes it one bite or open wound weather a gash or a simple cut to infect someone. They seem to have to survive by devouring the flesh of the uninfected. After the first bio weapon detonated in Baghdad the population quickly became infected with the virus.Even quicker then they had anticipated.Unfortunately they infiltrated the American bases by instinctively traveling in large numbers and quickly over powered the bases.More then 90% of the bases were destroyed and the remaining soldiers went back to America unknowingly taking the virus with them.I don’t know exactly how it came back with them or even how the outbreak restarted. All I know is that me and some other people are held up in and abandon military building with about 1,000 or more of “them” on the other side of the doors in front of me.With us slowly running out of food and supplies we are debating weather or not to make a run for it.I look through the bullet proof glass into their eyes and wonder where all the humanity went and I think to my self “What have I done”.

I am also writing a book. It is titled EverWar Chronicles. It jumps to timelines in history and is an alternate history/ fantasy story. Should zombies be put in it?

YES.
Zombies make EVERYTHING better. Even if you were writing a children's story, I would recommend zombies.

I think this could be the end of a great book series unless you meant this to start in the middle and eventually come back till the final fight. I think you need to look up the difference between the word "weather" and "whether." I liked how you end it with the narrator revealing himself as the good (or uhm...bad as the case may be) doctor. (That is what you were trying to do, right?) Anyway, I agree with grim on the grammar aspect and punctuation, but beyond all that you have the potential to be a good (if not excellent) writer of zombie related fiction and horror.

This is a downright scary (although somewhat morbidly humorous) idea.
