How far dare we go to eliminate the Z threat?

frankenstein Posted: Sun, 05/20/2007 - 12:08

Here is a hypothetical scenario.
The human race has been overun by the Zs and exists in isolated pocket, short of food ammo., and hope.
A mssage is received ffrom outer space offering help, but giving no details of its originators except that it is written on human skin in human blood.
A demonstration of alien power wipes out Zombie City by using particle beam weaponry, but the aliens say that humanity must become their servants in order to be saved.
The question is: Do we accept their virtual slavery in order to live?

No thanks, Alien-commies. Humans can take care of our own problems!

Honestly, if they have THAT powerful of weaponry, I doubt we get a choice of yea or nay.

On Z-Day, the first thing I am going to do is scream like a little girl. Once that's out, I will be ready to function.

Maybe there just A holes, and want to make us grovel. Turn us all into beer monkeys, or make us go get there dry cleaning....ugggh I would rather become stench food than be some offworlders bitch.

I'd submit completely, and then brown-nose my way up to some position of respect among the humans.

A nice, convient coincidence that we are plauged by a Zombie Dystopia, and then that's when Aliens suddenly appear for the first time, offering their help?

No thanks. Not only would it be hard for us to fight them off at our current prime, but now that the Z-Day scenario makes it even harder, it'd be a depressing choice but I'll never surrender!

I'll slay the Zombie with manly tears in my eyes, and slay any alien that dares to make themselves vulnerable.

At least I'll die standing up. For all those who would submit, you know they're just going to kill you off horribly one day. Would you prefer to be shot by one of their particle beams and die a REAL human, or be fattened up and eaten by a family of aliens?

Bravo Yendor87,
This is just the type of thinking we need-- Fight to the last and s*d the aliens
I know for a fact that they are bloodsucking ants from Zygor 5. who would fatten us up in food farms and then eat us. The only good thing is that they would kill us humanely, and not rip us to bits first as the Zs would.
In view of your erudite views, I aam putting you in for the ORDER OF MASS SUICIDE which is only awarded to those about to die violently as we are all destined to do if we cannot stop the Zs by any means fair or foul.
The blessings of Nerdwangler to all you humans,SORRY, I meant us humans!!

I think Aliens will attack before Zombies ever appear, in my opinion, that is. Eye-wink

In all fairness, though, based off of the initial info given the aliens seem reasonable. Conquerors, yes, but they gave us the option of servitude. They don't sound all that bad- I figure my odds are better with them than with Zacks.

Yes, they sound VERY reasonable. My reasons behind refusing to submit :

1) If anything is not a part of our race, we treat it as expendable, often indulging in torture of the creature just to please our own selves (Example, kids stomping on ants, subjecting animals to imprisonment "Mommy mommy! That dog is cute! Can we keep him?" A.K.A. Take him home to a strange family, where abuse is probable although not necessarily rampant, cut off their genitals, deny them sanitation by letting them piss and defecate outside as well as waiting for weeks to be washed. Not to mention denying them social contact with same members of their species for a long time).
Even slavery is not that far in the past, and that was with us humans. Genocide and homicide are still thriving and vibrant in our 'civilized' and 'modern' world. What are aliens, with no links to us and with more then likely a vastly different set of morals and ethics, perhaps even lacking emotions we have (Like a giant race of Sociopaths), going to do? Treat us as equals? Ha! If they're anything remotely like us I say start shooting the moment they make themselves vulnerable.

2) Okay, say they can survive in our environment. What makes us think we can survive in theirs? Say they don't need oxygen. Okay that's cool once they're here. However, what if they start taking humans offworld for whatever need they want. Do you want to be in the first experimental batch that suffocates offworld, or dies because the nutrients they need to consume are toxic to us? I mean, the whole reason one would submit is because they don't want to outright die, so it's kind of pointless if you submit and get killed a few days later regardless. And who's to say they aren't just going to experiment on you, tearing off your legs and reading charts on how your nervous system reacts while your left laying there on the table screaming your lungs out. I don't know why anyone would even RISK this.

3) Okay, let's assume that the bloody skin was just a miscommunication. All the hero humans die fighting the Zeds and the first wave of Aliens because they are too ignorant to just wait and see what the Aliens want. So, yeah, humans retake the world and the aliens help us rebuild it. How long do you think that peace will last? We, as humans, are bound to eventually break it. Sorry, but our history is muddled with violence caused by ridiculous reasons against one another. Imagine a complete different species that could be a 'threat'. The aliens obviously want something from Earth if they bother to offer to rescue us, especially from a threat that survivors will probably start seeing as a conspiracy by the aliens giving rise to violence under that banner. Whatever they want, I doubt it's just humans to serve. If they have space craft capable of travelling how ever many light years to our planet, I doubt they need a few million humans to do anything. Most likely they will be after our resources (Much like in the Half-Life series), and I don't know about you but I don't want my homeworld stripped to the bones and made uninhabitable because some damn aliens want a few trillion more tons of water to make some kind of weird alien theme park.

I'm a fervent patriot, first of my fellow humans, then of my country, then of my ideals, then of my world. My patriotism might shift depending on the situation, to a different priority. The four, however, remain the same regardless of their place on the ladder. We have too many examples of violence within our own species to make eternal peace with a new intelligent species seem plausible. I quote the Holocaust, Darfur, religious wars such as the Crusades, Isreal and the arab world, Civil wars, World Wars, Homicide in so called peaceful countries, ethnic cleansing in Bosnia...

There's so many examples from a century alone that make me want to just die during the confusing first contact with aliens then to live another ten years and watch the dam break into an eventual war of annihilation between us humans and them.
