It definately depends on the circumstance. Are they close or far away? Runners or shamblers? Urban or rural? Too broad a question here.

A standing machine gun would be handy too, but in an urban situation, a shotgun comes first in this poll
Well if they were runners I would go with the uzi but if they were the slow ones I would like the baseball bat.

I'll go with "Expeditious Retreat" personally, but essentially we're all talking about the same weapon: Legs, they work good
Were I to actually try and fight them, I imagine that an area-affecting weapon would be good, like a grenade or a rocket launcher. For style, I wouldn't mind a sword, one of decent length at least to give me some breathing room.
Still, this is all assuming that they are the typically-assumed-to-be-most-likely shambling zombies. If they were, I'll admit to a little katana envy

I would go for some explosives. I am sorry if you all disagree, but with some well placed explosives and a bait trap, I would have 1/2 to 3/4s of them dead. Leaving a few stragglers to pick off with a high powered rifle.
