One of the best survival novels I ever read is "ALAS,BABYLON" by Pat Frank. It deals with post nuclear holocost from the 50s. It's fictional, but fairly easy to read and deals with general survival, and how to deal with it in a small community. It doesn't have zombies, but it does have goblins and how to deal with them. It's not too long and winded and it's what got me started researching survival technics. This is my first post, be kind. OR don't be kind, whatever.

Don't say that. It makes people even more critical of your post. I know that you can't fix this, but maybe another new member will see it and not include that in their first post.
Other than my wee bit of nit-picking there . . . The book sounds interesting and I'll be looking it up sometime soon.
It is a great post , I think. It is not just a post about a book but, your first book. I think my first book is titled,"What to do when the Shit hits the fan." ( excuse the curse word, but, that is the exact title. ) David Black is a veteran of Search and Rescue and has lived through various situations.
You posted it in the right place, so you're off to a good start.
Friends, is proper English so hard?

It is, indeed, a good book. The only thing I remember in detail though is:
Don't wear radioactive jewelry; It's bad for you.

Aww.....I remember that book......It was the only book that I liked that I HAD to read in school..... I would have read it if I wasn't forced to.
But the book has a lot of good info on what to do in an apocalyps.

Yeah.... Not a fan of his book.... To each his own I suppose....
It was the first book I bought on Survival other than Zombie Survival Guide. The next one is Primitive living in the Wilderness or something like that.
