| So where do you go to get materials for you B.O.B.?
Well for the most basic items you can go to just about any store that has camping gear and sporting supply's (hunting and fishing stuff). Most of these places will have just about everything you need in your B.O.B.
Now for someone who wants to go a little farther and get better gear you will have to go a little farther then your local superstore.
For example in my B.O.B. I have a CLS kit (Combat Life Saver medkit) in it I have IV tubes, Needles, Bandages, Gauze, QuickClot, Tourniquets, Medical tape, a 1000 ml bag of saline (IV fluid) plus some other items.
Normally you wouldn't be able to find these items for under 300$ if at all. Trust me I looked. But by a stroke of luck I was in a Pawn Shop and saw a green CLS bag with a 40$ price tag. I purchased it immediately and it was a steal.
As far as Pawn shops go normally you wont be as lucky as I was but I promise you that if you have a major military base in the area there will be pawn shops with vary good gear for 1/2 the price of anywhere else.
Some of the items you might be interested in that I have seen in pawnshops in my area are.
Cases of MRE's (Meals Ready to Eat)
MOLLIE Gear (Allows attachment of various equipment on you with distributed weight)
Cold Weather Gear
Rucksacks
Hydration Systems
Body Armor
Helmets
Compasses
Medical equipment
and more.
Basically what Im saying is that for more advanced Items for you B.O.B. Check out your local military base's pawn shops.

Thank god I don't see a nasal airway listed. Because if by some weird twist of fate we ended up together and I was wounded I'd strangle you to death with my charred bloody twitching stubs before I allow you to use it.

That's a good idea, and with Fort Knox so close... I've noticed that you can get all sorts of cool stuff when units are mobilized. They can't take some of their stuff with them, because they only get so much space. So what do they do with it? Pawn it off. Check to see when units are mobilized from local bases. Chances are there will be some really nice stuff at the local pawn shops.

When a unit is deployed they usually put there items in storage or they turn them in. some of the time a person goes AWOL and sell there gear or someone "loses" something and it turns up in a pawn shop...

I've gotten all sorts of nice things at pawn shops near Fort Knox. I don't know if it's because the guys got deployed or not, but I've heard stories from my dad (Submariner) My scout master (Marines) and my grandfather (air force) about guys having to pawn their stuff. Things may have changed, but pawn shops near bases are packed with cool stuff.

Walmart, Academy Sports and Outdoors, Lowes, Home Depot, Cabela's, Target, Best Buy, Various Dollar stores, and other places.

WHY has no one listed the myriad of interweb sites that carry all sorts of fun good, some at pretty decent prices. I like http://www.specialforces.com or www.cheaperthandirt.com. If you want generally those two will have it at decent enough prices.

I go to Wellington Surplus for all my survival gear, they generally have way better prices than MSDS does.

We've been adding common med equiptment to it little by little, as we can afford to. The saline was a bonus.
Arty, yes, outside of military bases teem with great equipment if you visit the right ones.
Irock, I also agree CheaperthanDirt is a great site. The problem is quality. I personally would rather *look* at the stuff I'm buying. You never know, second hand stuff. (shrugs)
