Do you already have a list of things that you want to collect that have absolutely no value for survival after the shift?

And clearly I am a moron. Not only did I write the question in the subject box, I left the question box blank. And now the Edit function is not working in the "my posts" tab. I know what my vote is going to be.

Well, the original idea was to ask the question:
Is there anything that you will want to collect after the world comes off it's hinges? I'm beginning to think that I'm the only one who has a list of things I want to find and own. Lots of them can be used for survival, but then there are a lot of them that can't.
Example?
I want some dett cord.
I also want a VW micro buss.
I'll post the rest of the list tonight when I wake up. It's bed time for Arty.

On a side note has anyone been noticing how much my posts seem to fail? Especially here recently.

I have nearly a page of foods I want to be able to eat one day. I love food.

Ahhh...I get it....though you may want to edit the OP to explain what you mean a little more, its a bit confusing right now.

In my case, I think I'll be collecting videogames and other kinds of media. The Wal Mart is deserted, why not watch some movies I've never seen and play some videogames I've never played? I might also grab CD's to listen to music I've never heard.

Good question art, even if most people think that you are wasting their time, I have to give this question more serious consideration. I had not really considered collecting as much as acquiring things that were needed immediately, however, there are things that everyone wants. I can't see much use in quite a lot of electronic devices if there is little means to support their function. So, I would probably be collecting things that could be used for other things.

One major consideration "after the shift" as you so put it, would be entertainment so I would probably pick up every board game, puzzle, toy, and form of morale boosting equipment that I could find and safely carry with me back to "the safe house." Playing cards, paper, pencils, and notebooks to hand out to each member for their own personal use in putting down their feelings and providing an outlet to vent without violence toward each other. Also, a few hanging heavy bags (punching bags) to allow others to take out their physical frustrations on something tangible and for use as training tools for any new survivors we pick up along the way.

Hmm...I would probably also take stock in bicycles and parts as they would provide a quick means of travel and easy maintenance. SO MANY THINGS...darn you arty, now I have to go and rethink all my plans to include this new stuff. Laughing out loud

Electronic devices would be after electricity was re-established. In fact, that's probably something I would start collecting; electricity producing devices such as windmills and solar panels.

Before electricity though, I'd probably turn to books for my media.
