Dawn of the Dead (remake)

As I rewatch Dawn of the Dead (remake) I am always taken back at some of the stupidity of the characters. Once they are safe in the mall, kicking it, eating, drinking and waiting on rescue, they see this dude in a gun shop across the way. He needs food and water, companionship. So they go through all this stuff to get him some food that ultimately backfires. Now what I would like to know is what would you do if you were in the mall and you needed to get to him before the dog scene. You have all the resources that a good size mall has, the two vans and as much ammo and firearms that they had.

I was wandering why Andy did not attach a line to a arrow and shoot a few across.. It wold not be much but you could trade ammo food and water in small amounts.

With boldness be it blade or bullet if I see it I can kill it..

that solution would have put a squash on the rest of the movie right there...

Taste the salt of my tears
Take the wealth of my years
Singing in the millennium with you
Resolutions for show
Old ways don't seem to know
Singing in the millennium with you

I have to agree on what sherry said.
Though if you made a bridge how would you know it was secure enough to walk on it without it callapsing with you falling into a pit of zeds?

Well I do not know how you would do it but you could if you had a few lines in place make one of thes old stile clothing lines you see strung accost buildings. The buildings was like what a parking lot apart..? What would that be a few hundred feet?

I don't mean to sound like "that guy" but yeah...... I'd leave him there. I might take a few shots at zombies trying to get into his place, but I'm surely not going to try to risk my life to save him if I'm allready safe.

It's better to burn out than to fade away......

I think finding access to the gun shop earlier would have been a big plus. The amount of ammo, firepower, and (frankly) gun skill they had in the mall was a little unrealistic. They could have used Andy and the supplies there to hold their position longer. I guess their plans backfiring was quite realistic.

Also, I judge that distance in the movie to be closer to hundreds of yards as opposed to hundreds of feet.

As long as I have nothing, you can never take what's mine.

Here is my point ^^ with all the fuel cars propane tanks sitting around in the basement why didnt they just firebomb the hoards in between the 2 buildings and do a little wipe up with andy the sure shot?
Answer: doesn't make for an exciting movie.
If we were put in the same scenarios im sure wed do much better than to run to a mall. If I went to a mall it would be to loot and pillage. Not hang out all day with men wearing high heels, a semi attractive slut whose making pornos with the town idiot jackass, some janitor and a nurse who knows very little it seemed to me. Not to mention the security guards tweedle dumb and tweedle ya I wanna do the retarded fat chick from the fast food place.

To all of you suggesting they make a bridg, watch the movie again, when they first hear the gunshots coming from Andy's shop, look at the distance betwen the buildings, it is WAAAAAY too far for them to just shoot an arrow and build a bridge. I know the view from the binoculars can be misleading, and the time lapse from when they lower the dog, to the time he gets to the doggie door at the shop, both make it seem like the shop was only a small walk away when in reality it wasn't. Notice the time lapse and sound value when they show the dog after Andy blows the whisle.

OK this freaking school comp is pissing me off, the T and E keys won't work right so I'm gonna cut this short.

When I said use a arrow I meant to make a line to trade on. I have seen people fire arrows a very long way. A good modern bow could probably send a arrow several hundred feet. And a light line could hold a box of ammo or a sandwich. Even if it was just dragging it if you don't mind a very flat (stepped on) PB and J..
