If I were to listen to music I would only use one ear bud so the other is free to hear zombies behind me or possible reinforcements.
Each of these genres has their benefits.
Metal would help to raise your adrenaline levels even higher and to sustain them.
I voted for Jazz though because that would keep my movements fluid and relaxed.

Surprisingly Jazz is very nice to listen to. One of my coworkers is a metal head, but every once in a while he will be playing some Jazz to calm down and think straight while working on a project. I do prefer Chill/Chillout music to Jazz though, but they have the same affect.

i think i would listen to hip hop
some songs get your blood flowing and others just make you chill out and think
and rap-(lies,bitches,money,cars)=hip hop
because, as ive stated before, i dont care what anyone says if i can get my hands on a fifty cal. (i know i probably wont) im going to be listening to slipknot while i effectively eliminate anything in front of me.

metal all the way i work better when my adrenal glands are screaming lol. As to the comment about the earbuds if you attach then to the soft spot behind you earlobe or yout temple the sound will resinate in you head with out compermizing you hearing that bad(depending on the volume level). FYI the temple one is cool it sounds loke a mini band playing in your frontal lobe of your brain LOL XD
Slipknot is the best to jam to while hunting! XD Wait and bleed or Left Behind would make a great zombie killing theme song.
