How would these be effective? I'm pretty sure that the shot would be the size of grains of sand if it's being fired from a 9mm bullet. I'd group these bullets with peas and bits of tissue paper.

Nope. Never used them. Never saw a need for those cartridges and still can't see one. If they're made for snakes and small game a rimfire rifle or .410 shotgun can do the same job. Probably do the job a whole lot better. Come to think of it there are .22lr cartridges like that which I think is know as ratshot. You can guess what it's used for.

Not really a problem for revolvers though.

If I were to purchase any it would be the .22s, .357, .44 mag, or .45 LC. Unless I had a .45acp or 9mm revolver lying around.

Those are new to me, cannot say that I have ever seen them, if you get the chance, check out the Hydrashock, I use them, and find that they have sufficient stopping power. The only problem is, unless you are a member of the law enforcement community, you may have a hard time getting your hands on them.

*do as I did, become friends with a police officer and spend your weekends at the firing range, you get to see and try all sorts.

They're not restricted to LEOs unless it's a state law (hollow points are illegal in NJ). Otherwise Hydra-Shok would only be listed on Federal's LE site. Even then I think the whole sale restriction is just company policy.

I have shot the snake shot for 22 lr made a nice pattern at 20 yards (all over the target bout the size of a dish plate) penetration is probably nil. I cannot imagine that any of the others would be that much better. If you are really curious buy some and take a coconut out to a firing range see which distances it will break the coconut at. I am going to do the same with my 22 lr and see how effective it will be at what distances. From what I hear, a coconut is stronger than a human skull, may not react the same way under different circumstances, but it is the closest thing I can find to simulate it. If anyone knows better speak up, but as for purchasing actual dog-pig-human skulls (I know you can) they are too pricey and make you look like a psycho.

After the twist, you'll feel a snap and the body goes ragdoll on you.

Small print...

Give your pistol the performance and versatility of a shotgun with this shotshell ammo. It's ideal for small game and varmints.

I'll have to find out how it does on birds. As for the talk about using them on anything like a human target being a waste. That my friends is The Art of Duh.

Really? A pig's head can usually be had for free. They always came with the body whenever one was picked up for a barbecue. Yep... Screw those throwing those wimpy little shrimp on there and that sissified butchering (barbie) of an already cool word... Laughing out loud
