My son recently recieved a book as a gift, called 'The Boys Book: How To Be The Best At Everything'. At first I thought it was just a funny book, but then I actually looked at the table of contents. It has some really interesting ideas, that help kids get 'prepared' without scaring them.
For example:
How to tie three essential knots
How to give mouth to mouth resuscitation
How to make a simple raft
How to build a campfire
How to treat stings
How to read a compass
How to fall without hurting yourself... much
How to repair a flat tire
How to make a water clock
How to row a boat
Just to name a few. As a parent, I just wanted to share this with other parents. I know for me, this would be an easy way to help my kids prepare for an emergency, one of any kind.

That sounds like a cool book.
oh it'll get you somewhere, it'll get you bait
What about The most dangerous book for boys or whaterver it is called? Have you read that one. There is some pretty cool stuff in there.
Have a nice day!
I like knives.
I'm a cat! MEOW

Gave that to my nephew. I don't know what danger a 3-year-old is going to get into, but...
I messed with Texas.

Probably more now that he has a book of ideas.
Winning isn't a reason to get a reward but one less poke in the eye, while losing gets you two.

Sounds like a scout manual.
"The Way of the Samurai is found in death. When it comes to
either/or, there is only the quick choice of death. It is not
particularly difficult. Be determined and advance."
Thanks Bella, this sounds like a great addition to the kids' library.
I have two boys. Perfect.
