I want to write an article on storing food for a disaster, but to do all the research myself would take a lot of time I don't have. So instead I am asking you all to send me links on this forum about different foods that you think would be good for after a disaster.
These are the five categories by which I am basing my opinions.
Nutrients
Price
Weight
Volume
Shelf life
When you submit food for review you must include at least one of these. When I am done I should have different price plans that would allow you to stock food for a disaster based on what type of survival scenario you are facing.

For one, I like your idea.
I think you should expand it, however, dividing your food resources into three categories:
1. Purchased/prepared: MREs, nutrition bars, that sort of thing
2. Purchased/unprepared: "How tos" on pickling/canning/drying/smoking
3. Scavenging: I'm very interested in this, especially within a city. I look at all of the fruit trees in L.A., and the other trees that have pods, nuts, flowers, and wonder "what's edible?" Be careful to add a disclaimer so that someone doesn't poison themselves.
In addition you could do a chapter on: water content in foods. If you're rummaging through the remains of a Wal-mart, what to you snatch-and-grab, that could provide you with both nutrition and some water?

I wrote an article about this, but it needs improvement. Nick, if any of the content is useful, feel free to fold my article into your own.
All that needs to be said is this: FIRE = BAD
I don't really need more articles what I need is specifics. For instance SPAM. Does anybody know how much it costs?

Yes you did. I read it, and added some commentary. I do like Nick's push for more specificity.

When this is done I will have different plans for different stratagies. For instance if you are staying at home you would purchase a larger amount of food. These foods would be more suited to a sedentary lifestyle. You would have a greater variety as well. For those on the road you would have a different meal plan that calls for lighter foods that are high on nutriants. I just need specifics on different foods. For example could someone please give me info on SPAM. Give me links to sites that tell me how long it lasts, how much it costs, and so forth. I already have the nutriant info on it. Then someone could tell me about a can of baked beans. Then someone else can research a can of tomato soup. By the time we are done we should know what foods would be best to buy.

Uhmm...Nick...just ASK.
All I did was type in "How long does Spam Last?" and came up with This.
For the price of spam, you are going to get a lot of links that talk about the internet version of spam, but not so much the food. If you want the food price, you are going to have to do some research of your own by going store to store.

No I ain't no d*mned mormon.
As far as other prices go I don't what to tell you. Place to place food prices can go from a few cents difference to a few dollars.
I refuse to give you The Mighty Sanchez nod unless you add this quote to the article.
Edit: Something I never got to finish.
I don't want to sift through all of the sites my self, that is why I am asking for your help. Chilbert finaly provided something usefull and it has a link. The shelf life for SPAM is indefinate. Thank you now I know that SPAM keeps forever and I know how nuetritious it is. Now I just need to figure out how much a container weighs, what it costs, and how much room it takes up. Then I can move on to a different product. And will people please stop sending me links to articles on this site.....Sanchez!

SPAM costs around $3.49 per pound at close to one pound per can. The can measures out to roughly 2 x 4 x 2 1/2 inches.
