I was YouTubeing one night while i was bored out of my mind and came across this. now keep in mind that this tech is relatively new so it expensive but i say give it a couple of years and there may be a lot more of them out there. Its an electric motorcycle i really quite well compared to more common vehicles. If i could id definitely get one.
Reasons being
1. quite.
2, renewable fuel source.
3. relatively fast.
now i know you would have to find a portable way of recharging it but i haven look into it that much. But i think if you need to take the chance to run to the city for supplies and can make it back to camp before you run out of juice it would be great. here are some like so you can check it out.

Noone has posted anything about electric motercycles before. There have been cars brought up but never motercycles.
Those are awsome but I have to wonder if there is a way to increase the range without adding more weight to the bike by adding more battereys...

It sounds kind of noisy. I ride a harley myself. I get about 40 MPG. It goes about 110, and has about a four gallon tank. Nothing has ever gone wrong with the motor. While a croch rocket style may look cool you would be kicking yourself for the rest of the apocolyps except for the fact that you would be so sore that you wouldn't be able to lift your leg. My old sportster got very good gas milage and was pretty fast but you couldn't ride it very fare without being shaken loose from the seat with all the bumps in the road. I think that it would be a good idea on a touring bike. You could pack some big batteries into a goldwing.
