Zombie Philosophy

Zombie: an offensive term for a person considered to lack energy, enthusiasm, or the ability to think independently. Source

It has dawned upon me recently, partly due to the influx of new participants in our forums and partly due to a recent conversation I had with a particular moderator, that many of us are afraid truly and rightfully fearful of become a Zombie. And to this idea I do mean the definition previously stated. I realize this because so many people have come in and asked the same question, so much so its in our FAQ as the first, second and Last question, "Do you guys really believe in Zombies?" While most of us do believe the event is possible I believe that most if not all of us are here for another reason. An attempt to feel connected to something greater than ourselves or some simple job. To be a part of the recreation of not just the world as we know it but humanity. To be able to see some real and actual change in society that is in fact for the better of humanity and society. I'm posing this forum in Define: Zombie because while it may not be dead it is or has taken over our way of life and is a definition of Zombie. And I believe that Many of us won't or can't accept the fact that without an apocalyptic situation we will never break the bond of the zombification that has enslaved humanity.

How many people hate their jobs? Aren't Happy with their financial situation? Aren't happy with their life at home? In general aren't happy? How many people here feel like at work you can't move a frieggin muscle without either doing something wrong or just pissing someone off? Who here needs to drink coffee or an energy drink just to leave the house in the morning? I guess what I'm trying to say is what if the Zombies are already here, what if they have already taken over and there is nothing we can do about it? What if the only way to change the world now is to give people thought? So I leave you with a Quote "The world is a stage on which new actors in new costumes continually perform the same old plays" Tilman Pesch So will you find a new play or continue to play your part?

I hope you enjoyed my Philosophical take on the reason as to why so many people are drawn to this idea thank you for reading and please post your take. Its philosophy no one is truly correct

"I am the warrior in whom the old ways have combined with the new."

I like the post. So many just survive rather than live. I almost fell into that trap. Discovered a love of mountain biking over the downs where I live and this place is a incetive to refresh the neurons and think outside the box, which is a useful trait in all aspects of life

Very thought provoking, Shadow.
Makes me think of how we sometimes use the word 'zombie' more as a verb in our everyday vernacular, yet when we are in this forum, it means something of a noun or something else, eh?

Laying all seriousness aside, I ain't givin' up my coffee, man. It just ain't happening! Eye-wink

while i agree with this i found my outlet to be paintball, music, and ATVs
For one brief 10 minute moment on the battlefield, you are no longer in your world with your rules, you have new rules, new clothing, and are justified in the shooting of other people. For one brief 10 minute moment, you're free.

I believe it's little things such as what i've stated that separate a human from a being, the ability to do something outside of the norm, to enjoy doing that something. Although using that thought process criminals are in fact some of the MOST human since what they do are significantly beyond the norm.

interesting topic, more interesting while watching Dark Knight lol

I see what Shadow01192 is getting at and he has made a good philosophical inquiry. However, I think the direction of the wording, which was depressing at best, could distract from the fact of the good things that happen in or around the workplace. The feelings of pride and happiness in knowing that one has helped another and can stand on one's own feet in a world of individuals who may not be so lucky or able. It seems to me that the zombies are the individuals who have lost hope in either themselves or the people surrounding them for whatever reason.

I would never ask you to give it up but you prove my point. . .On Note Chilbert Philosophy quite often is depressing. At least I haven't posted the existence or there in lack of theories. Your right there are things that people forget in their everyday work and to remember these, to take pride in one's work, to keep hope might just be a way for this world to change but let me ask, Do you? I'm trying rather hard, for once, to ensure anyone to post here is thinking. For the most part I've been content with this thread.
