Zed war classes

There are different types of soldiers. And these will change drastically for Z-Day.
I'm talking about Support, Grunts, Demolition, Scout, etc. So the real question here
I guess is Who will be what? What would you be best at?

Good post.

I was thinking about those of us who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a gun. What would we be good for?

Bait Runner and/or Retrievers: Agile, Physically fit individuals who can lure zombies into kill zones, or distract them away from home bases. Or they go out to retrieve necessary items for the survivor group.

Door Man: Sort of like the dad in 28 Days Later. Big, burly, can beat the snot out of a zed with a hammer, and basically hold the line on a penetrated perimeter.

Angel/Valkyrie: Well this guy is an excellent shot. He does overwatch on foraging parties. He shoots Zed before they can attack. Or he mercy kills surrounded survivor groups.

I guess I'm saying that traditional military roles may disappear when the supplies run out. We'll all have to get a lot more creative without all our "battle rattle."

I messed with Texas.

hmm... i like this direction this post is going.. i'll post again later when i'm more awake.

Winning isn't a reason to get a reward but one less poke in the eye, while losing gets you two.

hmm, im not sure exactly of the title of my role, so if some one could give it a name, a cool one preferably would be much appreciated but i would be the type of guy who would look out for the group as a whole, im not particulaly big but i am physicly fit and could kill a zombie head to head malee style Laughing out loud

also i am a great shot with alot of guns, being 4th best marksman in england (national marksmanship competition 2006) and a great decision maker, would put my life at risk to save even the weakest of the group

Z-Day; Earths natural selection

Gotta be careful with saying that since we dunno what zombie's will be like.
Although I'd say it wouldn't be impossible to do if you used the right equipment/weapons.

Because The Muppet Show Said So.

I would be Support Laughing out loud

Seriously though, I am a big clunky guy, power lifting, and endurance running (5' 11", 225 lbs, bench-press 345, run 7 miles in about 1.5 hrs for cardio at least 3 times a week). I can carry wounded, and supplies, as well as hold my own in a fight (granted fistfight is nothing compared to mass of zombies, but I have taken on 3 people at one time in a fight and held my own) all around I am proficient with a handgun, and a rifle. and have a background in CPR and lifesaving (still train the lifeguards at my neighborhood pool).

my greatest problems are, directions and memory, I am lost without a GPS, and if directions take more than 4 steps I generally cannot recall them. I learn extremely fast through muscle memory, but am not a visual or audio learner (I am horrible with names) the only way I know to negate this is to plan ahead and create routines (I have to always put my keys, wallet, and cell phone in the same location in my house). I am generally not very agile, but can move extremly quiet when I need to (not for long distances), I would be a horrible scout, and am better off aiding, I do have good leadership expierence as I have been a manager and have 4 younger brothers that I have been taking care of for the greater part of their life.

One problem with this topic is, after Z-day wont it be every man on his own, and trying to help as many humans as possible without getting killed by Zeds or Goblins? It would be awesome if the people on this site were at some zombie hating convention when Z-day breaks out, and we can all go "well we know each others Strengths and weaknesses, you do this, you do that, you fortify this, excellent!!!" I think we all are going to be on our own for some time. Then we will have to make due with the people we have around us.
However to contrast this, this topic makes us identify our strengths and weaknesses so we can understand them, and plan accordingly.

Excellent topic, as long as people dont think that they can conform to their class and not iron out their weaknesses. (Which I don’t think anyone would do, unless their class was “1337 Ninja LoL dood”)

The brains. And realize I don't say this as a way to suggest that I'm smarter than anyone else, I've just found that I am physically average or just below average. I do, however, learn quickly and can adapt to new situations. Whatever role I play, I won't be on the front lines, or if I am, I won't be the one carrying the gun.

Support, in response to your question about people as individuals, I think the goal here is to keep people from thinking and working as individuals. I think people will be far more successful if they work together.

All that needs to be said is this: FIRE = BAD

i still believe that militaristic roles will be in play, medics don't need a medical kit if they know of herbal remedies, and if i can take a stick and some vine and make a car work or something to that extent then your still an engineer in my book, and i honestly haven't the slightest idea what i'd be best at, i've never shot a rifle although know how to operate them, know how to clean them, can improvise to make things, but simple things, not really fast, Jack of all Trades? i do enjoy knocking down doors and breaking stuff though XD

I don't think I explained support very well(I was tired last night) It can be one of two things, Support fire or A sort of jack of all trades helper.

I have absolutely NO knowledge of herbal remedies. I'm an american, I get medication like I get my food: From an acne ridden teenager in a drive-thru window.

See, I think we've got ourselves a bit of a confusing situation. I don't know if you are responding to me or to the user support. You see, I was responding to the user support who said:
