as you already know i own a mini 14 but now have the opportunity to purchase an M44 for about $100 after tax and can't decide whether i should go for it
any ideas?
wow this is weird having this post be naked again, well it was received today and i am very pleased, it came with the tools, oil, sling, bayonet, ammo pouch
the stamping on the receiver shows a sickle and hammer surrounded by a wreath like what the Roman Emperors wore

Oh..... I just had a "moment".... I do have to say that in humble opinion the hex reciever M91/30 is the best of mosin nagant long rifles. Heh... I have a love hate relationship with them. Excellent rifles for the price. Unless you get a lemon or don't want to work on them. Not to mention they're a little long. For us short people any way....
Remembered I've got a few cans of that spray on camouflage stuff lying around somewhere. When I find it I'll post what it is. May need to change out the furniture though. Which sucks because you are holding a very fine rifle in your hands. Don't go for that route just yet though...

i did a bit of digging, apparently it's a Izhevsk (Soviet Union) model going by the stamping
