As I arrived at work today, I found this on Hack-a-Day and thought I would share with you all.
Glenn Hackleman (don't ask who he is, I just followed the link to his site) was testing how to make DIY ballistics glass with materials he could purchase from Home Depot.

Unfortunately, it's still very early in the process so he doesn't have any shots of the process or of the fully tested product to show how bullet-proof, but this would be a great thing for someone on this site to try.
DIY "Bulletproof" Glass
All that needs to be said is this: FIRE = BAD |
Awesome article. Will have to test it out.

I dont doubt its ability to stop some bullets,
really the concept is the thicker and more resistant materials
you put into the making the stronger it will be and unless your holding fort in a
homedepot chances are you wont be making it the day of the attack.
When they come me and the gun planned a speech,
Only problem is the gun knows just one phrase,
but it handles business.
"The Way of the Samurai is found in death. When it comes to
either/or, there is only the quick choice of death. It is not
particularly difficult. Be determined and advance."
This is a preparation site. as in you make it before said day comes...

Um, yeah, what he said. If you made a bunch of windows and what-not already, then you can arm your house with it and ensure at least a few more days of safeness until you have to bail.
As every day passes, our time grows ever more nearer to utter devistation...
