The point is to make it yourself so that you can put that same $30 to something more useful (ammunition, gun, sword, etc...). Plus, you won't necessarily be able to buy one once z-day hits so knowing how to make one is invaluable.

After reviewing that video link, I just have some suggestions for our members. DO NOT try to make anything you have seen in these videos without the proper safety equipment. The youtube video shows a very dangerous method of making the stove. Plus, you want to remove the paint from the can with sandpaper before you make one of these as the fumes can be hazardous to your health. Please, please, please, Wear SAFETY EQUIPMENT and USE YOU BRAIN.

from the look of these 2 vids the best fule sorce for these is heet or Denatured alcohol. normal alcohol will work but it will not gas up as well or last as long.
Or just buy a trangia for 30 bucks at any good surplus/camping store.
