I am outsourcing for a game company making a game for the PC and one of the consoles. I would like feedback and info into what you would like to see in a zombie game and what you do not like about the games that are out there.

And just to clarify, this game is in production, the engine is most of the way done, and stary line is being put together now, a playable demo will be availbe before to much longer, I am trying to get ideas to instatute before it gets to far along.

Once demo is running i will post a link.

Alpha test link......remeber this is not in beta yet, real rough

Hmm...you do realize that you are going to get some really different opinions with this questions. For example: There are the individuals who love realism in their games but not so much that the game is impossible. Then again, there are those who like some realism coupled with some really obvious uses of non-realistic elements (for example: Snake's backpack that can apparently carry every weapon in his arsenal that he has acquired plus food and other junk. Not saying this is a bad thing, but it can be). Then there are the individuals who like the games that have absolutely no or very few ties to reality. Then there are the weapons (which is a debate in and of itself). You have to consider that the majority of your audience here is preparing for REAL disasters (zombies or no) with zombie discussion as a focal point. So much to consider...

That is more what they are looking for, what someone who is preping for Zday would like to see in a game.

The more diffent ideas the better.

I think we've covered this a few times, so you'll forgive me if I lack enthusiasm.

I like realism in a game and I want a game to be as real as possible. For example, I think food, water, health and everything should be something to keep in mind. I don't think the game should be all about killing zeds, but a lot of daily survival.

All that needs to be said is this: FIRE = BAD

Try to make it more of a survival game featuring zombies instead of a zombie killing game.

You should do what the game disaster report did where you had a backpack and could only carry so much in it but you could flip and move things to try and make room, putting bigger bags in places for the player to get it. But you should still keep trying to fight of zombies but making it more of a secondary thing, promote avoiding and hiding from them. Also for things like food and water you could use another disaster report ideal and have plastic water bottles which could be refilled.

I'm a pretty huge game player, So I'd like to think I have a good idea of what should be in a game.

Because The Muppet Show Said So.

What ever direction you choose to take, please, please, please make sure the game has a dang good and reasonably believable story line (like it "could" really happen).

A game in first person or third person toggle perspective would be nice.

And if possible the story should go from the very start of the invasion to its end.

And please, give it a good storyline.

Another idea would be to run through these forums etc and find agreed upon ideals for zombie fighting and various weapons and tactical layout that people on this site have.

Make it gruesome, violent and everything else needed in a good video game.

Personally I would prefer Runners to Shamblers and for the zombies to have nothing but the natural instinct to eat, a good zombie would be one that feeds on victims, sees a scouting party and runs towards then and lunges at their necks like many predatory animals do.

What I would like to see most would be solid Multi-Player, with varied options that don't just concentrate on Human Vs. Zombie last man standing death match that is so prevalent in most Zombie themed games.

A wide variety of real weapons should be available, with closely matching statistics. I mean, lots of people would love to use the Uzi, 9mm, Winchester Lever Action, but if the most powerful gun in the game will be the M4, then what's the point of having all the others?

For Single player or Co-op (Co-op should be able to have at least 8 players) the Zombie hoards should be massive with rag doll physics. It'd be neat to play with buddies in a non-linear sandbox type level and be able to enter any building, get to the roof, and see the zombies slowly (or quickly, whatever) piling toward your position. Set something up so that there could be varied objectives (Survive X minutes, rescue X civilians, escape to X position, etc).

It could be storyline single player but for a Zombie game I think a storyline should be one massive city with adjoining forest, and the story is your survival over the course of say 30 or 40 days. Actions along the way determine weapons, fort size, ending, etc. Try to make the game as Sandboxed as possible since linear action and story progression is just not fun with Zombies. And not Sandbox in the sense of Dead Rising, since truthfully it was basically a room full of Zombies where you had to find the vents. Sandbox like GTA where you can leave the city, go into the woods, go into a small town, etc.

Fairly demanding, I know, but I am an avid FPS gamer and a decent Zombie game needs to be released.

Concentrate on variety and freedom, graphics can be standard if game play is solid.

A game where you die from a single bite, AND where runners appear out of nowhere. Other than that i want every thing thats on you can be seen and ecumberance.
