I know some of you don't like the idea of a bicycle as your main mode of transportation, but I think this bike, if not your primary vehicle, should be kept on hand.
Weighing in at just under 3 pounds, BME made a bike frame in which they basically made trusses from carbon fiber and then combined them with some titainum hardware for a few key places, leading to a bike frame that weighs only 1.2 kg (2.7 lbs):

While they don't mention how much the whole bike weighs, given that they use a custom built saddle which is itself just barely a half of a pound, I'd wager this rig would be a pretty nice thing to have around -- if you get it stuck, you get off, and lift it up and move it wherever you want.

Looks like a good bike to have anyway.

Heck yea, i'd totally ride that.. if nothing else strap it on i case your main vechile breaks down
Winning isn't a reason to get a reward but one less poke in the eye, while losing gets you two.

The main question is how durrable is it and what is the statistics for corrosion?

Carbon fiber -- it's damned durable, assuming the resin is done properly. Bike like that would probably last your whole life, only need new tires from time to time.

So the spokes are also carbon fiber? Usually they use aluminum for cost efficiency.

Although this looks like a good bike, and i've seen some super lightweight bikes thanks to my dad and his obsession with them, there is a flaw.
Its a road bike, and as we all know, whats going to be a major problem when the Z's start attacking? people will flee, cramming road ways with mile long traffic jams, and then the zombies will over run them, and it'll be a mine field with zombies, either roaming around, or stuck in their cars.
Now, the last thing i would want to do is go around on that bike, which can only acces roads, or well kept gravel trails (good luck finding one of those)
so, although the bike is lightweight, its still very risky to use it...
Though, my main mode of transport will be biking when the shit hits the fan, i'll be using my Norco 4hun

it's a trail bike, lightweight for its type of bike, disk brake for better stoping, shorter handle bar for better control, and a gaurd to protect the chain (bashgaurd as we call it)
so, if you're looking for a bike on Z-day, by a norco, or a wallmart bike, but dont use a road bike, not the best mode of transport...

Oh, yeah, you heard me! THE MUPPET SHOW SAID SO!!!
Everyone knows how I feel about bikes.
Thumbtacks and Nails anyone (hmm...I could just use some caltrops). Unless they could fit one of these on the bike (keep in mind this is still experimental), then bikes are in my opinion a pretty good death trap.
