where in your area to hole up?

TheBox Posted: Sun, 03/02/2008 - 02:52

..first things first, this is not your "ideal fortress" or what not, this is a where in your area do you think you could barricade the most effectively given the tools and materials that are ON SITE as in you can't bring anything...except your bugoutbag with you and whatever is in your car RIGHT NOW, i personally would go to the golf course, my particular area has a sliding garage style door with a bolt and lock (which could be added to) 2 windows that have the iron burglar bars and chicken wire, and one other door that goes to an area which is difficult to access from the outside, the main entrance is blocked by an iron fence and gate, on both sides of a tunnel which could grant me access to the kitchen area and dining area which has a gas fireplace (provided the utilities stay on) and also the roof connects everything and is easy to climb on
your ideas?
now for chilbert (ninja) i hope i was specific enough for you
think about the area (population) its in, how close it is to your frequented locations (work/park/etc), how many tools/items that are useful that are on site

Well I have said it before but this building. It is brick and made to resist brakeins (Bared windows heavy reinforced doors mutable locks.) We have walk in freezers and refrigerators full of food and a large water holding tank for are water filtration system. I want to get a natural gas powered generator.

if you win lotto and have 40+ extra grand lying around add plenty of solar panels and a large capicitor bank.

Also make the mains very accessable and have someone in your group learn about at least the basics of high voltage / high amplitude electric currents. So in the event of a zombie invasion you can put the power in a single circuit seperate to the mains or else any capaciter banks you may have or want will be useless.

My basement. It has a stairwell that can be easily barricaded. The basement comes with a water faucet, no toilet (as of yet), 9ft long dead sexy pool table from the 50s rescued from the hall, pingpong table, dart board, and many other features to ensure me or anyother person in my party won't go insane from boardom.

Have a nice day!

You can count on The Mighty Sanchez using it for a unintended purpose if by some strange twist of fate he visits the location in which is contained past/present/future/etc. (d*mn it I want a grinning smiley!)

But if the zeds broke into the rest of your house, how would you get out of the basement safley when the door has half a dozen zeds around it? You have to run out of food sometime.
