(Ham Operator 1): What the hell is going on out there? I've heard reports of riots in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Chicago. Reports are saying people are being brutally attacked.

(Ham Operator 2): I've heard the same thing too. Its all over the tv and internet. The Federal Government has declared Marshal Law and has dispatched all State National Guard Units.

I was actually at work when I heard about it. I was working the graveyard shift at a gas station. I had bought my hand-held scanner with me. So I could monitor the storms we had the previous night. It was at 0300 when I heard the first report. The riots has started in New York. They called it the NFL Riots back then. Due to the upset during Super Bowl XLII which was the previous Sunday. The Giants had prevented the Patriots from having a perfect season. So most people assumed it was because of that. After I heard the report I basically blew it off because it was happening in New York not Indiana. Then around 0400 more reports started coming in about more riots. This time the riots started to pop up in Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, and Miami. Thats when I had a feeling I knew what it was. Something I've been preparing for since I was at the age of ten.
