I need some suggestions as to where to Bunker down when the shit hits the fan.. I have acouple of good secure places to go that are all close to my location. I live by Ft. Monmouth army base in New Jersey, as well As Earle Naval Weapons Depot about 5 miles away. Both of those areas are pretty secure as fences go. There are also Underground bunkers that are accessible off base not to far away. These bunkers use to belong to a Military Proving ground that was stationed at Sandy Hook Beach, NJ. I know Ft. Monmouth and the bunkers outside of it Inside and out, considering I am a Soldier and also went through R.O.T.C. at Sandy Hook. But I have not yet gained clearance to travel onto Earle Naval Base without a reason. Therefor even though i think Earle W.S. would be a better place to bunker down, I dont kno it as well. Any Suggestions.? Any one close to any of those places..?

Sorry. Can't help you. Though I know a number of people on the site are going to suggest avoiding military bases since they will be a place that people will go, which makes them a possible problem for infection if someone gets in and then turns.
I'm personally a big fan of heading for the country -- if you have relatives who live in outstate (or if you yourself are in a less populated area) get away from cities.
All that needs to be said is this: FIRE = BAD
Have you considered maybe "finding" a small boat and simply getting out in the middle of a river , large lake , or even setting out into the ocean but close enough to shore to lay-in for easy obtainable supplies and maybe to pick up any survivors. Its nice to have an impregnable "fortress" but being on the move at least until a highly secure area can be located can also have its advantages.
Just a thought

I live in Louisiana nature made trenches and Levees are both good for perhaps 3 fortnight with proper reinforcements.

The problem is that these are high traffic areas. Remember when Z-Day hits nobody is going to be sure what is happening for, realistically speaking, a week AT LEAST.
Once people panic though, there are going to be three main locations you can bet the masses will be trying to get to :
1) Hospitals.
2) Police Stations/Facilities.
3) Military Bases.
I highly suggest avoiding ANY place mentioned above, for obvious and not obvious reasons.
Obvious :
- These are high traffic areas and will have a constant stream of people coming in, many probably wounded and/or in the throes of infection.
- Unless you're in charge of or at least a part of the governing force (Military, Police, Etc) odds are any protection you bring in with you (Guns, knives) and supplies (Food, medicine) will be confiscated and all that will happen is that you'll be herded into a giant open area full of others (Think the Stadium during Katrina).
Not So Obvious :
- The Government, Police, and Military are not all powerful. They are human just like you and I. There is no guarantee they will be able to hold off the Undead for any length of time.
- The Government may be quick to contain this issue. By the time you decide to leave for/arrive at your chosen location an order may have already gone out for the security forces to simple keep everyone at with Lethal Force. Even if the Government has issued no such order, NATO commanders, under their mandate, have the power to declare the bases 'Pure' Zones in the advent of a situation they feel is crucial to the continuation of their or their allied States.
The rule of 'It's better to be judged by 12 then carried by 6' is not widely known outside of the military but it exists.
- Most installations have minimal to no rationing plan in place, at least for refugees. The brunt of supplies ARE going to be saved for Security and Civilian Personal.
Being a soldier helps, but it also may prove fatal.
You may be pressed into service at a facility doomed to fall. On top of the fact of survival, now you have to decide whether to abandon your oaths and comrades in arms over your own life.
My personal suggestion is to befriend most of your fellow Service Members and have an agreed point at which you guys will desert. If it becomes obvious that the station is indefensible then it would be better to abandon it (And anyone unable to make the trek) to preserve some kind of armed force.
Of course at a major military installation this is damn near impossible (My local armoury is only at understrength company size so it's easy).
Bah, I'm ranting again. Here I'll just lay what I think is the best solution.
Do not go anywhere where there is people. Get out to the thickest, nastiest part of the wilderness as quickly as possible...
Or even stay in your house. A lot of people won't agree with me on that one, but look at the advantages...
1) You know your local area inside and out.
2) That's where the majority of your supplies will be stocked.
3) The majority of people will be fleeing their homes. This means ironically there will be less people IN the city then OUTSIDE.
4) With a constant amount of supplies on hand boarding up and securing your dwelling securely against most threats will take only a few hours, as opposed to spending what could amount to days to find, reach, and fortify a position that may be overrun.
But, do as you wish. I'm not familiar with your area and therefore cannot provide any solid plan of action. In fact it might be best to avoid making solid plans and instead create a guideline of minimal rules you'll try to achieve Z-Day, depending on the type of infection, pulse rate, etc.

Any place that is already under your control. If you've got good shelter, water, food and supplies, weapons, ammo, you're known in the community and have people to back you up why leave?

I would avoid all government facilities, The fewer people the better. And if the proverbial shit hit the fan I believe that all military units would be operating autonomously and in a marshal law like state of KOS or (Kill On Sight). In My mind a sturdy older house with thick doors walls and high off the ground windows in a low population area and a good privacy fence to hide day time activities like gardening and rain water collection.
