Hell Away From Home

It is convenient for one to assume that they will be at home the zombies appear -- the home gives the owner a sense of security and familiarity. However, assuming this will be the case could prove fatal if Z-Day happens to be during your family vacation. This article is meant to simply explain an effective plan outline for the common tourist.

One may be hundreds of miles away from home when a zombie shatters their hotel window looking for some tourist brain. If this were to happen, their likely well-laid plans and resources at home will be rendered useless. In order to completely plan for the zombie apocalypse, one cannot base their plan of action around the house they live in. This does not mean that it is not important to have a fortified home. A man's home is his castle, as they say, and that saying could not be taken literally enough in order to prevent multifarious walking dead people from invading it. The following measures and tips are recommended to reinforce your "Away From Home" battle plan.

Do Your Research

Whether you’re worried about zombies, a sprained ankle, a robbery or a good burger joint, the solution is always the same: do your research. It is never a bad idea to research the area you plan on visiting, pointing out grocery stores, drug stores, gun stores, supermarkets, and other places that may prove to be useful in a zombie-infested world. Also, it would be wise to bring emergency items hat would prove useful in any sort of emergency. A large flashlight, a first aid kit, a set of radios, and other compact things should be considered if you’re planning ahead.

Be Ready to Bug Out

In the event of a zombie outbreak, avoid main roads, highways, and any crowded areas. With the zombies comes chaos, utter confusion, and a complete and rapid breakdown of society. People will not be very safe to be around. Traffic will become congested and you will likely be forced to move on foot. These will also make nice targets for zombie hordes. As was suggested above, have enough emergency supplies to be able to get away from the main population centers.

Find Cover

Try to find a garrison. People who band together in fortified areas, such as a church, will prove safe for a short amount of time. This will allow you time to heal, rest, or to adjust your plan. No plan is infallible. This, however, is only suitable as a temporary solution. If you find refuge somewhere such as a church or hospital, bear in mind that so will many bitten people, and the chances of zombies attacking from within are certain.

Find Locals and Make Friends

Gather intelligence on the area from the locals. The locals are right where they need to be. Utilize their knowledge. Further, you will find it useful to make some friends. It would be devastating to be alone in an apocalyptic world with no bearings on where you are except that Disney World is three miles away. Make trustworthy friends so that you can receive help and supplies, if possible.

Get Home

With the realization that this may be difficult if not impossible if you are overseas from your home, do your best to have an alternative route home. It would be wise to plan out some means of transportation that you could use, even if it’s a rented car or a bus ticket.

Conclusion

These are only a few things anyone can do to ensure a much safer vacation should it be upset by a horde of rotting corpses. It is important to be on guard wherever you are, and this notion is all but considered when one plans a vacation. Just remember: the living dead don’t take vacations, they take victims.

SoulPwn...did you triple post? You've done this before, and I remained baffled as to what's going on with it. There's an edit post function, try to use that instead of posting multiple times.
