Walking Dead is great. It keeps a fairly real feeling. Its not about fighting zombies all the time. It's more about the long-term psychological effects and how people deal with living in this sort of an environment.
People die. People get into relationships. Children are born. Life goes on.
Cell By Stephen King is a semi zombie apocalypse novel.
And of course theres The zombie survival guide.
