For those out there that can't decide between an AR and an AK now you won't have too. From the fine minds of the people at Magpul Industries we now have the Masada(or we will when the get into full production).
The Masada can be switched in minutes from a 5.56 x 45mm using AR15 magazines to a 7.62 x 39mm using AK magazines. It looks alittle like the XM-8 from HK that got cancelled. From the what I've read from their site it sounds pretty interesting. If nothing else it would make a great survival weapon in that you would be able to use either the 5.56 NATO of 7.62 x 39mm rounds when you came across them.
They've even made it on to Future Weapons on The Discovery Channel.

From what I've seen it will be .mil and LEO only. As it will be a selective fire rifle. Are they going to make a semi-auto only civileagal version?
Cell phone use in hospitals=BAD!!!!
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for I am the badest motherF***er in the valley!
Neet! Ammo versitility would come in handy in any "end of the world" situation.
Thanks for the link.

When in danger, or in doubt, run in circles! Scream and shout!
nice looking gun,ill wait till they have been around a while before I make any concrete opinions.
It looks more like a G36c than a XM-8,in my opinion.
If it isnt as reliable as the AK then it still wouldnt be as usefull as an AR.
The AR family is so plentiful you can find parts almost anywhere, and the AK never needs 'em lol.
People prolly wont have a whole lot of parts for this thing until it becomes more popular.
Why not? Hell, they made a version for most other rifles of the like in a different name. It would be cool to have something like this. It has a 1400 price tag though (carbine), not too too bad (but bad enough to disaude me for the time being).

You frustrate me to no end Dylan. Didn't you read up on it? Many of its parts are the same as the ones used in the AR series.

I heard a few companies make ARs (or half of one) that operate similar to kalashnikov rifles.
H&K, because you suck and we hate you. If they do make a civilian version it'll be hyper-neutered. [sarcasm]After all, painting a rifle black or adding a pistol grip means it can kill more people.[sarcasm]
I'm going to look into the XRC. They offer more (5.56, 7.62x39mm, .308, 6.8 SPC, etc.).
gotta love that ambi- thing. as a lefty, I have problems with most guns, and one of lose with the ultimate surefire picatinny set ups would be awesome
Then you live in the right country.

Yay I frusterate someone.
But for real,I didnt read up on it as much as I should have, but most parts arnt going to do much good if one specific to that gun breaks.
I think ill stick with my 30-06 bolt action Steyr.
Or my 270 BAR,or the FN Fal I hope to buy soon,or a Sig 556.
My point is there are plenty of guns out their, from manufactuers that I know and trust, that I would rather own.
All the ones I just listed will shoot just as good as any other rifle, but I would also be able to find parts for them fairly easy[ok maybe not the Sig].
I would love to field test one of these though.
I REALLY want one of those but I dont think ill have the cash anytime soon and I dont think the army will give me one
Will you hold me back? If need be I will leave you behind...
