Whats so great about a machette?

Umguard Posted: Sun, 11/18/2007 - 00:23

Why would i want to choose a machette as my main CQC weapon over say a wrench or a axe?

Get up the stairs, then destroy them.

A machette is a very common weapon and easy to obtain. It's flexibility is also a strong point. It won't snap to easily. Whereas what happens when the handle on the axe breaks, or the wrench rusts or something. Even if the handle to the machete breaks you can tie a rag around it and keep using.

That and the other two don't have movies named after them starring a kickass mexican

You're kidding right?

An axe might be a close second, but the thing is the 'head' of an axe is the only useful part, whereas the whole part of a machete is lethal besides the handle (Barring, of course, the back side). Most Machete's are meant for one handed usage, whereas most axes are meant for dual hand, barring of course, one handed axes which basically work out to more ineffective axes.

Machetes are great because they're better for untrained hands, more durable (More blade means even if you wear down a part, more is still sharp), and well they look cooler than axes Sticking out tongue.

Please the majority of Machete's out there have their own sheath/carrying tool, whilst axes might have a 'U' metal carrying post.

A machete has less weight, thus you would be able to use it more efficiently than an ax. A wrench is just a tool. Unless you have a rather large wrench, I would keep it in my toolbox.

machete has more blade coverage.
and i find it easier to cut things with a machete than a axe,

but why not have both?
they each have they're own uses.

i saw a cross between a machete and an axe once (machete with an axe blade on the back side of the end of the blade) not saying that it was practical, but it sure was cool lookin.

seriously though, a machete is WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY more versatile, plus its piraty
