That should explain it pretty simply. But, for those who refuse to visit the link, here's the summary:
I don't know how to score things. I think things should have different scores, but I don't have a good thought about how to implement a scoring system.
I stand by my earlier idea of scoring different events in proportion to their damage radii.

I'm working on that. But that's a bigger fish to fry -- that will entail grabbing the person's IP address and getting a location based on that or going off of the entered address for each user.
Regardless, I think you'll agree, a snow storm doesn't exactly say "zombies" as much as an animal attack or an epidemic does ... am I right?
So, I ask again, take a look at the page and tell me how to distribute scores.

Actually, I meant radius from the origin of the event, not related to the individual user. For instance, a tsunami would have a radius of thousands of miles, a chemical spill a few dozen, and an animal attack no more than two or three miles (depending on the animal in question).

Uh I think it makes sense to me and how do you want help scoring things? Do you mean with 1 be the lowest and saying 10 being the highest?
Yeah. You got the right idea.
Hopefully this will explain what I'm up to:
This tool will evaluate the likelihood that disasters are signs of a zombie apocalypse. Events will be ranked in terms of the likelihood of this event being related to zombies. These will all add up to a score that would be based on the number of possible zombie-related events and the value assigned to each type of event.
Obviously, all events are not equal when related to zombies. A tsunami is hardly a sign of zombies, whereas, if there is a large number of animal attacks, it may be a sign of a zombie event.
So, I am having trouble determining how each event should be evaluated for threat and how to work out the scoring to the result makes the most sense.
I had them broken into categories, but I think I'll take them away. Just a single score for each event type. So, I think a tsunami would be a score of 1 or even 0, since its very likely to cause any zombie related event. A snowstorm would be the same, but an epidemic would be a higher score. A cosmic event shouldn't really be an issue, but it may be something to watch ... so it may have a low score, but higher than a snowstorm.

All that needs to be said is this: FIRE = BAD
I'm sorry, but I'm completely lost. Whats the Cause mean? and how do the numbers work?

Hey how is the Zombie watch tool coming alone anyway? Haven't heard anything about it for awhile.
