they're ok blades, but really are only effective in a pair.
and you'll want to have another longer weapon handy as they're short
Do explain to me how they are only effective in a pair.
they could be used as one, but considering the size & shape of blade. they can be used in a pair for a scissor like effect to let you decapitate whatever.
i've also never seen one used by itself .
it wouldnt have to be used in a pair, but why not?
Well, yes and no. The entire design of the kukuri is to improve your cutting ability with the weapon. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kukuri
However, the "need" for two of them to be effective is incorrect in the fact that you can just as effective if not more so with one (while you held a gun with your other hand perhaps).

Nope. This is durable enough to get through the first couple of days to get more ammo. I dont plan on having a machete as a weapon because " within arms reach is just like laying on the floor in a hot dog bun" - Want ketchup with that?

Thought it was going to be used for the purpose it was originally intended for. In other words, camping/yard work. Eh. Have fun.
That was used in Resident Evil: Extinction! It requires you to get a little too close for my liking.

Because The Muppet Show Said So.

Last resort melee weapon = yes. Only melee weapon = no

I love it. I just don't have the ability to order one at the time. Plus, Walmart has their machetes on sale for 9.96. I cant beat that offer...

You can when you have a machete with the blade bent at an odd angle after a few minutes of chopping.
