if like you said - dead that is reanimated, then no. most of the zombies that are reanimated dead are usually "magically" immortal...
for example - resident evil type are expected to live decades... how??? dawn of the dead type seem to decay due to exposure and such but not significantly.
night of the living dead or some other type we dead returning from the grave - in all sorts of conditions (lacking muscle, bodily fluid to transport infections, etc)
so - if it was a zombie type that was a living person then "died' immediatly due to infection or death in general and was reanimated immediately and had a reasonable expectancy of decay then yes
if it was reanimated dead (like really really dead people - days, months, years dead) then freezing would not kill them. neither would it kill the resident evil type.
I would also have to argue that the latter mentioned above are most likely impossible - so any zombies you would find in the real world would die due to freezing.
Freezing destroys tissue, the only thing that keeps us from freezing is our core temperature. If reanimated zombies don't use their organs they wouln't have a very high core temp and would freeze quicker destroying their brain and killing them.
Who said anything about not using their organs other than that comedian Max Brooks? For all we know, they still have a core heat source and they can live in cold temperatures for a good amount of time.
Also- If they are reanimated, while the cold hits, they could suffer from signs of Hypothermia (heart lowers to zero and then is kept in hybernation) so that when it starts to get warm again they get up and start their quest for food.
It's not an invalid principle since Frogs and many other species of life can do it.

Im glad you brought up the frogs because there is a key difference between them and us. Right before they freeze they release a massive amount of sugar into their system. When water freezes around sugar it does so in an spherical fashon. Without the sugar water freezes into jagged crystals that destroy tissue.
Yet, there isnt much about bears that are different in digestive system to us, nore wild hogs. How do you know that by animal instinct zombies couldnt somehow change their behavior and then digest plants for massive sugar quantities? Also, how is it that you dont realize that zombies always group together in the movies- given that they had body heat, the inner pack would survive.

Bears don't freeze they cover up with a bunch of fat to keep warm. Instincts don't just change. It takes thousands of years which is why household cats still have preditor instincts. If that was true about eating sugar then give me a bag of candy bars and I'll climb everest. They would have to be hugging and if they were doing that I would check to make sure they were zombies before I shot them.

Like the Tree-Frog right? They can be frozen, thawed out and continue living. But I guess, zombies are quite different than frogs. I think of it like this. People/Zombies are steaks, if you will. If you leave a steak too long in the freezer, you get freezer burn. True that some say that zombies being turned into what they are, "transforms" the brain into a completely different organ that doesn't require oxygen (in some cases, for exaple, the 28 Days/Weeks later zombies still need oxygen) it still runs the body, and as they say removing the head or "destroying the brain" (which can be done by freezer burn) will kill them.

only one thing to say about that due to lack of information about animals and sugar what not but, have you ever been to a school dance and danced towards the middle? people have heatstrokes in the middle of dances, people are hot ate baseball games, at conventions, why? because of all the meat bags piping out 98.6 (i think) degrees of heat EDIT so the zombies don't need to be spooning to stay warm (it might help though O.o)

if i'm not living, and i'm not dead, then what am i?
Well to produce that heat they have to eat. If a zombie doesn't eat then they won't produce heat. If they are producing heat then they are using their organs. To eat they must hunt meaning they can't stay in a group.
hmmmm......very interesting points stated here, i must say, though, untill we have a real zombie to test these things out, we can never come out with a real answer, so keep in mind, there is no wrong answer being posted (just putting this up so that no fights start again.....
