To maintain a CB Radio- You first need to remember that it takes electricity. A rechargable car battery works. You need a way to recharge the power source, and you also need an intena for distance.
To use it, you need to learn how to speak.
Introduction to how to speak properly on a radio-
Military use:
State your name, then the person who your trying to contact. (IE- NIE - Dragon.)
After "Dragon" responds you can speak your message. (IE- *Dragon* - Go NIE. *NIE* - I need ammo)
When one member stops talking for more than 5 seconds, it is a clear sign to relay a responce. (**Dragon*- Go screw yourself. ~1~2~3~4~5*NIE*- I see how it is.)
If you want a quick responce, you could say "over", but it is un needed.
Civilian use:
Identify yourself. (IE- "Hay this is NIE. Anyone hear me, over?"
The use of over at the end of all broadcasts is a necesity since most dont know if your pausing and are going to say something more, where as in military you speak with a fluid sentance with no pausing points.
Terms:
"Over and Out" means you are signing off for the night.
"SOS" is called as such because of the fact that in morse code, the radio transmission for a distress call was the same as the letters S - (dotdotdot) O - (dahdahdah) S - (dotdotdot).
"Over" signifies that the radio broadcast has ended and gives the option for either a responce or dead air.
"Dead Air" is the name for silence. If there is a pause between discussions, that is dead air. If there is no responce at all, it turns into a "Dead Channel".
"Clutter" is the term used for when there are several people broadcasting at the same time. This usually causes break in communication effectiveness.
Any other questions? Any terms you would like to know more about?

Damnit. Can't you just keep to one name so people don't get confused? You know- common sense isn't that common.
Keep it simple. You will forever be The Box.
GWAR is a band. Lets keep it that way.
