For those who are unfamiliar with sprouting, this is something that you all should look into. As a survival thing, it is really unbeatable. My mom was a big hippy and grew her own sprouts for YEARS. This can be done with something as simple as a $20 sprouting kit, or a few trays from Target/Wal-mart and some dirt, or whatever creative option you can think of.

Wow, this is wicked. I love sprouts but I didn't even think to make my own!

Survival chances for Yendor have just improved by two percent!

Total : Seven Percent.

YA HOO!

Well, they don't give you all the nutritional value you need, you still need to eat responsibly, but they are INSANELY healthy. Think about the health benefits of easting the vegetables themselves, then imagine concentrating that nutrition into a smaller package.

Two easy ways to start sprouting: get a quart jar, get a loose cloth/screen/etc, use the jar top ring or a string/rubber band to hold the screen/cloth on the top. Get seeds for this: you can get sunflower, mung beans, quinoia, radish seeds, broccoli seeds -- nearly anything. Just don't do anything thats poisonous (like potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, etc.) You'll want to figure out the watering schedule for the seed/bean you have (usually its something like 3 times a day) or they WILL go bad and smell like ... well ... its bad.

Make sure you rinse your sprouts well on the schedule they need. If they sit around without getting rinsed they will go bad and you can get sick from this.
