Hello everyone.
Planning for "Project Nightmare" began on October 2006. After months of ideas, Project Nightmare became "Oplex and development began in June 2007. The first beta testing was in early July 2007, testing game features and weapons. Since then, the game has changed drastically - the gameplay features, the sprites, the maps, etc. The website, http://usoded.com (u-SO-dead) was created on September 01, 2007 and on October 28, 2007, beta for Oplex version 1 went live. Hundreds participated in a matter of days. Thousands browsed the website. The game became unstable and crashed due to the overload of players. Thus, beta officially ended on early January. Ducky learnt the hard way. With the disappearance of the website as well, loyal members were in disarray and had lost hope for the project. No one knew what happened to it.
Fast forward four months.
With a revamped system, new features, and lessons from the past, Oplex returns.
The objective of this game is to see "how long can I survive?", not "how many zombies can I kill?". Will you cooperate with your fellow peers? Will you turn on them and be an outcast? You'll have to use your resources wisely and make wise decisions. After all, no place is safe - only safer.
Currently under works:
Graphics revamp/touch-up: Self-explanatory
Revamped weapons/equipment system: Hm...I have an axe, you have an axe. Both are the same type of axe as well. However, they both have different attack power, speed, and accuracy. Why is that?
Minimum Requirements:
Operating System: Windows 98/me/2000/XP
CPU: Pentium III - 600 or higher
Memory: 128MB and higher
Sound Card: DirectSound or compatible/ Support 3D Sound Effect
Internet Capability: DSL or Cable Modem
Other: DirectX 8.1 or higher
Have a great day!

Oh, yeah, you heard me! THE MUPPET SHOW SAID SO!!!
Not much.
Minimum will most likely be 600 Mhz [Pentium II] and 128 MB RAM. Having about 512MB is recommended though, since you can expect over 200 zombies on your screen (if you ever come into that position, you're dead. :[ ).
It's sort of like a survival simulator.
I'm interested. How can we beta test?
All that needs to be said is this: FIRE = BAD
Beta testing will begin sometime in October. I'll probably update this topic for you guys, but I think it's better if you sign up on the website (organize before they rise!).
Expect the download to be around 300-500 MB. It will be accessible on the website and here when it's ready.
Have a great day!
looks pretty neat. I want to play
I'm signed up! my username is the same

During Alpha testing two days ago, my guy died of starvation. :[
I'm there and signed up. Will there be a mass email once it's all ready for Beta?
Map of ZPI users locations and safe houses, feel free to add yourself, but don't provide actual home location!
Most likely. I'll update this page when the installer is ready.
Looking forward to trying it out.
