BBCode & Quote Tutorial

BBCode allows you to specify formatting rules for your text, even if you are not allowed to use HTML in your posts. BBCode originated from the forum software named PHPBB, and this site has a special implementation of it.

Rules & Guidelines

The Zombie Preparedness Initiative is a survivalist website, however, we are not in so dire straights that we would forgive all sins and transgressions just yet. While viewing and participating in what is offered on this site, please make sure you are aware of the rules and guidelines.

Admin and Moderator Rules

As a site administrator and/or a forum moderator, I expect you to follow all the rules of the site and be a good example of them. I want people to be able to look at what you are doing and understand what should be done. Moderators and Admins should be able to recognize appropriate behavior and inappropriate behavior and point it out to the users. This means that if you notice someone making an inappropriate joke, you comment on it or if you see someone with bad spelling/grammar you make a note of it to them.

Privacy Policy

The Zombie Preparedness Initiative respects each site visitor's right to personal privacy. To that end, we collect and use information throughout our website only as disclosed in this Privacy Policy. Let us first point out that the information ZPI gathers will never be given or sold to any third party groups unless you have been informed of the possibility and have given explicit consent.

How To: Attach an Image to a Post

Attaching an image is easy, if a little convoluted. First, you must be aware, that there are limitations on images. You may only attach GIF or JPEG images and they are limited in size and each user is limited in what they can upload during their time here. Unfortunately, server space is hard to come by without copious amounts of money, and we're not set to start raking in the dough anytime soon. If you want to upload larger files, put them at someplace like Flickr or ImageShack, either way, if you have the URL of the image, BBcode ([img] and [/img]) will allow you to add the image to any type of site content.

How To: Post Content

The Zombie Preparedness Initiative web site allows the creation of multiple types of content (below, individual content items will be referred to as nodes), all of which can begin in the same way, but most of which are slightly different in application. To create content, you must first click on Create Content and you will be shown a list of options for content you can create. Please note, based on how long you have been a member and based on your status here on the ZPI site, some of the options listed below may be hidden from you.
